Sheryl Sharleen Girardi, 71, of Rockford, Illinois passed away in Cary, North Carolina June 27, 2017. She was born May 16, 1946 a daughter of the late Myron C. Shoaf and Doris M. (Dolan) Shoaf. Sheryl was a parishoner of the St. James Catholic Church in Rockford. She earned two Master's degrees from Judson University. She enjoyed traveling, reading, socializing with her many friends but most of all being a grandmother and spending time with her family. She also will be missed by her many friends and extended family especially the Girardi, Van Laeke, and Rodriquez families.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10 am July 12, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church in Rockford, Illinois. Inturnment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

My dear dear friend I will so miss you!! We met on Orientation Night for Sophomore's at East. She sat down next to me in the Auditorium and has been my great friend ever since. I am so sad but so grateful God gave me the opportunity to know such an amazingly person, full of compassion and grace!!! I will be forever grateful for all the memories we were able to share. 😪😢😥. Rest In Peace my dear friend!!!
