Marvin W. "Bill" Berg 1945—2016

Marvin W. "Bill" Berg, 71, of Rockford, passed away September 18, 2016, in his home. Born Jan. 29, 1945, in Rockford to Edgar and Ardis (Bounds) Berg. He served in the United States Army. He married Hilde Klaas on June 21, 1968, in Germany. Marvin worked as a machine tool salesman for Greenlee Brothers and Ingersoll. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on computers. Survived by his wife, Hilde; children, Steven Berg and Sue (Gregg) Bautz, both of Rockford; grandchildren, Sydney, Zander, and Austin; siblings, Jan (Ethan) Preston of Cherry Valley and Lucy (Jim) Buck of Jacksonville, IL; and many relatives in Germany.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 2nd Ave. Major Dale Tollerud officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Private family burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
