DAVID GARTH WINTERS AREQUIPA, Peru - David Garth Winters passed away July 13, 2008, in Arequipa, Peru, after a well-fought battle with cancer. Born June 17, 1946, in Minneapolis, Dave was raised in Rockford, Ill., by adoptive parents, Fred and Mabel Winters. He was a resident of Grapevine, Texas, for many years. Dave was a kindhearted person who enjoyed diversity, travel, new challenges and time spent with friends, whether in work or play. He will be remembered for always being there to help others. Survived by loving and caring best friend, Sandra Valdivia Rodriguez and daughters, Camila and Allison; nieces, Jennifer Mallow Holmstrom and Jessica Duncan; supportive friends, Shirley Whitaker, Jess and Judy Daniels, Sandi Klier and many others. Predeceased by parents; and sister, Paula Winters Duncan. Private service and interment held July 14 in Park of Hope in Arequipa, Peru.
