HARRY DAVID WILLARD SR., 60
LAS VEGAS - Harry David Willard Sr., 60, of Las Vegas died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, in Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Born Dec. 14, 1946, in Rockford, Ill., the son of George H. and Rae Ann Willard. He was a graduate of East High School in 1964. Harry first taught music in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and joined the Clark County School District in Las Vegas in 1978. He retired as a music teacher in 2007. "Mr. Willard" was well known for the choirs he created and directed in the Clark County School District. Upon arriving in Las Vegas, Harry was hired as musical director of the Las Vegas Little Theater, including "They're Playing Our Song," "Hair," and "I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road." Harry was also the organist at the First Congregational United Church of Christ for 28 years. He is survived by his most beloved son, Harry David Willard Jr.; mother, Rae Ann Willard of Rockford; sister, Wendy (Bruce) Peterson; nephews, Michael D. Peterson, George N. Peterson and Franklin B. Peterson; and his niece, Lauren R. Peterson, all of Somonauk. He was preceded in death by his father, George H. Willard in 1997. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, in Greenwood Cemetery, with Father William Wentink officiating. Arrangements by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd.
