PATRICIA J. MCDONALD, 61 ROCKFORD - Patricia J. McDon-ald, 61, of Rockford died at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born in the same hospital on Nov. 21, 1946, the daughter of Elmer and Norma Schwebke Nygren. Graduated from East High School in 1964. Married Glen D. McDonald in Rockford on Aug. 28, 1966. Graduated from OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center as an LPN in 1982 and worked through the Registry at several area facilities. She was then employed as a payroll specialist for Rockford Park District for 12 years. Pat was involved in scouting as her children were growing up and she was always supportive of all of their activities. She was a nurturing wife, mother and grandmother whose life was her family. Survivors include husband, Glen; children, Todd A. McDonald of Rockford, Stacey A. (Dean) Smetana of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jennifer A. (Sgt. Jeremy, USMC) Sturges of Oceanside, Calif.; grandchildren, Rachel and Ethan Smetana and Whitney, Zachary and Logan Sturges; parents, Elmer and Norma Nygren; brothers, Bruce (Marijo) Nygren and David (Lynn) Nygren; sister, Susan (Steve) McIntosh; special aunts, Elsie Wahl, Phyllis (Jim) Miller and Margaret (Norman) Lawton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brother; Steven Nygren; and uncle, Einar Wahl. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with the Rev. Loren Nielsen officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, and from 10 a.m. to time of the service Thursday, in the funeral home.
