Deceased 2011

PATRICIA JOANNE GRAMS, 64 BELOVED WIFE NOW IN THE ARMS OF THE LORD ROCKFORD -Patricia Joanne "Patty Jo" Grams, 64, of Rockford, was with family Thursday, July 21, 2011, when she went home to be with the Lord. Daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Johnson) Carlson, Patricia was born Aug. 5, 1946, in Rockford. She married the love of her life, Rich, on Sept. 18, 1971. She spent much of her professional career as a licensed registered nurse working for Elmhurst Memorial and SwedishAmerican hospitals. The job Pat loved most was that of loving wife, mother and grandmother. Long after she left the nursing profession she continued to provide care for loved ones and family, in addition to being a full-time wife and mother. Pat was a dedicated member of Rockford First Church, and co-led Market Day fundraising efforts for the school for 18 years. In her free time she loved to plant and care for her flowers and nursed many a household animal back to health. Survived by husband, Rich Grams; son, Chris Grams; daughter, Kim (Tim) Harper; brother, Curtis E. Carlson (Dona Seely); and grandchildren, Daniel and Anna. Predeceased by parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Carlson. In our hearts we know Patty Jo now walks hand-in-hand with Jesus, surrounded by loving family members.
