I was behind the plate as Gary's catcher in high school and in the summer leagues. Gary was a very good pitcher and just a really good guy.I am very sorry that he has left this planet. He is in a better place. sincerely, d.w. Ebert

Gary was the only pitcher that could have me diving for cover as his high-inside curve ball went quietly over the outside corner of the plate!  He was a great pitcher, good friend and terriffic team mate!  Denny Ebert had the only hard job when he was pitching - keeping a sharp eye on Gary's extreme fast balls and diving mix of curves, sliders and change ups.    Playing third base was quiet wnen Gary was pitching - no one ever got their swing around fast enough to pull a shot down the third baseline.  The challenge I had was staying alert on such a quiet day!     My best thoughts, condolences and good wishes go to Gary's family and friends.  He was a good friend and team mate during some of our best times " growing up".

Truly sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Great pitcher, great teammmate and I could tell he was a fine family man. Not much action out in center either when Gary was on the mound. I enjoyed reminiscing with Gary and other E-Rab baseball treammates at reunions. Great memories. After graduation Gary also went on to play for the Rockford Blackhawks which meant I had to face that 12-6 curve ball and fastball that tailed back over the inside corner. Virtually impossible. Condolences to his family and friends. We lost a special guy.
