DENNIS T. ANDERSON, 63 'DENNY' 'DENWA' BROTHER IRON WORKER CHERRY VALLEY - Denny Anderson, 63, of Cherry Valley passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Born Nov. 22, 1946, in Rockford to Helen and Arnie Anderson. Graduated from East High School in 1964, attended NIU, and served in the U.S. Army. At 52 years old, he married the love of his life, Miss Vicki Fritz Fishe. Retired Iron Worker, Local 498, and member of Cherry Valley Sportsman Club, American Legion Carlson Post, SMSF Club and Rockview Breakfast Club. Survived by wife, Vicki; sister, Mary Ellen (Bart) Greenwood; stepsons, Eric (Jenny) and Michael (Lori) Fishe; grandchildren, Abbilynn, Andrew, Courtney and Lorelai; nieces, Jacy (Seth) Armstrong and Lindsay Maio; father-in-law, Rudy Fritz; special aunt, Beverly Tucker; and cousins. Predeceased by parents. Denny's main loves were, Miss Vicki, his sister, Mary Ellen, his dog, Shotsy, his Swedish heritage, living on the Kishwaukee River, traveling with Vicki, Lake Ripley, and his town, Cherry Valley. Denny was a father figure to many. He was blessed with hundreds of dear friends and we were really blessed to have him. When he was diagnosed with cancer three weeks ago, he said "It's been a hell of a ride!" Denny loved life and lived it to the fullest. Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1225 E. Second St., Belvidere, with Pastor Allen Buss officiating. There will be a celebration of Denny's life at his dear friend, Brad Fosberg's Oscars Pub, 5980 E. State St, Rockford, after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
